General Motors saw its sales increase slightly Corvette after months of decline. General sports car has seen sales jump 13 percent in January and February compared with the same month a year ago. In total, 955 Chevrolet Corvette has been dragging dealerships in the first two months of 2011. That's good news for General Motors. Well, maybe good is too strong a word.

See, Corvette sales are not always all the records were not so late. Automotive News says that since 2006, car sales have been constant free fall. In fact, at that time the number of Corvette models sold around 3000 units per month for a total of 36 518 vehicles. Last year the figure was only 12,624.

So why the crisis? It's no secret that the Corvette C6 is growing long in the tooth. The latest generation of the coolest bow was introduced in 2006, and muscle cars like the Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang are now bending power numbers for a much less cash. While it is true that none of these offers can provide the type of treatment more and more vicious Corvette serving up that most simply do not fit.
