Volkswagen Golf GTI 35 Edition
Volkswagen GTI is the king of hot hatches. Of course, there are more powerful cars to drive better in the segment, but hot Volkswagen Golf, launched this compact sport flingable niche in the mid 1970 and quickly became one of our favorite vehicles classes. When it comes to fun for a buck, you can not beat a tailgate.
To celebrate the 35 anniversary of the Golf GTI, Volkswagen has created this, issue 35, which goes on sale this week in Germany. Visually, the 35 edition is distinguished by a unique front bumper, special wheels, and '35 'emblem on the seat and door sills. Updating the most important, however, is the substantial increase in power over the standard GTI - 25 horsepower - for a total of 235 hp.
Volkswagen has not said a word on availability here in the U.S. yet, but we are keeping our fingers crossed. The Golf GTI Edition 35 made its official debut at the infamous Wörthersee GTI Meeting, Germany, June 1
